PassBlue: In Defense of Reformed Multilateralism
Richard Ponzio and Nudhara Yusuf: “Against a backdrop of divisive politics and mistrust among major powers, the Pact for the Future can be a proxy for the defense of reformed multilateralism — and as a strong support against forces seeking to dismantle the idea of cooperative global governance. … The Pact for the Future affirms cooperation over isolation and narrow self-interests. It is now a proxy for the defense and reform of multilateral institutions.”

“For issues like climate change and general environmental issues, it would make sense for a world government to intervene. … What about issues like the economy? Should the world government collect all taxes and distribute it to states based on certain factors like necessity and contribution? Should the world government mint a world currency? What about infrastructure projects? What about education? … I’m also curious as to how the governments will decide what issues should be handled by the world government.”
